Batavia/Oakfield - Louis T. Kowalczyk, 85, of Batavia, formerly of Oakfield, an employee at Haxton Foods and Us Gypsum, both in Oakfield and retiring from Graham Corporation in Batavia after 21 years, died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital, in Buffalo.
Mr. Kowalczyk was born December 3, 1927 in Batavia, a son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Balon) Kowalczyk.
He was a lifetime member of St. Cecelia's Church in Oakfield.
His wife, Adella S. (Dudek) Kowalczyk, died January 23, 2007.
Survivors include 2 sons, Ronald Kowalczyk and Gary (Katy) Kowalczyk, both of Oakfield; 2 daughters, Donna Colon of Brooklyn and Karen (John) Tomidy of Batavia; 6 grandchildren, Devin and Anthony D'Aurizio, Brittany and Sean McCarthy and Tyler and Katelynn Kowalczyk, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Julian Kowalczyk, Verna Mikolajczyk and Sophie Dermody.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave., Oakfield. Mr. Kowalczyk's Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Site, 56 Maple Ave, Oakfield. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
