Rochester - Lucille A. "Lucy" Sewell, age 97, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Brightonian Nursing Home in Brighton.
Mrs. Sewell was born on December 30, 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the only child of the late Edward and Ottie Nolcox Story.
She graduated from Girls High School in Brooklyn in the mid thirties and became the owner of a restaurant there. She graduated, Magna Cum Laude from and became a teacher at North Eastern Bible College in New Jersey. She received her Master's Degree in Christian Counseling and Education from the Biblical Theological Seminary, was the former pastor at the Gospel Tabernacle in Rochester and worked in a social agency which served senior citizens.
She is survived by her niece, Joy (Shep) Shepard of Los Angeles, CA.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 on Tuesday at H.E. Turner & Co., Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Street, Bergen where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Merry officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Bergen. Memorials may be made to the Bergen Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 206, Bergen, New York 14416.
