Williamsville - Mrs. Marcy A. Marble, 89, of Williamsville, formerly of Oakfield, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital.
Mrs. Marble was born February 26, 1925 in Oakfield, the daughter of the late Joseph and Onolee McCrillus Jesment.
Mrs. Marble served as the Town of Oakfield Clerk for many years. She and her late husband previously attended Oakfield United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church of Elba. She has been faithful member of The Chapel at Crosspoint for many years.
Mr. & Mrs. Marble sold their property on Drake Street to Rev. Herbert Durr and his group that started the Genesee Country Church in Oakfield. The house they sold to the church was the house she was born in.
She enjoyed traveling with her son Randy, having spent Christmas in Florida for the past ten years. She enjoyed watching The Doctors and Dr. Oz and often took notes on her tablet so she could remember their medical information.
Her husband, Ralph E. Marble, passed away on December 9, 2002.
She is survived by her son, Randy Marble of Williamsville, brother-in-law, Donald (Karen) Marble of Caledonia; sister-in-law, Mildred (late Nort) Hale of Batavia and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is the sister of the late Melvin Jesment and sister-in-law of the late Raymond (Bernice) Marble.
Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Genesee Country Church, 3268 Drake Street, Oakfield, with Rev. Richard George officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.
