Obituary of Marie R. Krause




Urbana, IL/Basom - Marie R. Krause, 99, of Urbana, Illinois and formerly of Basom, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Clark Lindsey Village, Green House East, in Urbana, Illinois.



Marie was born February 3, 1920, in the town of Yates, Orleans County, New York, a daughter of the late Kenyon N. and Coral E. (Clark) Roberts.



From the age of five, Marie loved to sew. She established a sewing business and was known around Genesee County as one of the best.  She also loved to travel and visited, among other places, Vancouver Island, France, Italy, Kenya, Tanzania, Greece, St Johns Island, Nova Scotia, and former Yugoslavia. For many years she was very active in Genesee County Home Bureau and 4-H and the Oakfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Bryan Krause (Cynthia Krause) of San Diego, CA; a daughter, Brenda K. Eheart (Wayland Eheart) of Champaign, IL.; seven grandchildren, Gavin and Garth Welch, Amy, Megan, and Joel Krause, and Sarah and Seth Eheart; and four great-grandchildren, Blake and Laurel Jones, and Mila and Lena Todic; a brother, Richard Roberts, a son-in-law, Darrell Welch, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Krause and a daughter, Yvonne K. Welch.


There will be no prior calling hours.  Marie's funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16th at the Oakfield United Methodist Church, 2 South Main Street.  Marie will be laid to rest in Reed Cemetery, Oakfield.
