Alexander - Mrs. Marilyn Judkins, 86, of Alexander, passed into paradise, Monday (January 14, 2013) at Buffalo General Hospital.
Mrs. Judkins was born August 4, 1926 in Attica, a daughter of the late John and Isabella (Strathern) Grau.
She is the wife of the late W. William "Bill" Judkins and sister of the late Doris Sondericker.
She is the loving mother of four: Wayne (Cathy) Judkins of Corfu, Lynne Judkins of Alexander, Bruce (Jody) Judkins of Washington, MI and Susan (Terry) Cramer of Chili; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Batavia, she was an avid quilter, making quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Judkins loved cooking and baking for her family and proudly earned the title of New York State Grange Champion for her Sponge Cake. She particularly enjoyed attending events in which her grandchildren participated. She was the office manager for the former Elchar Tool & Die Company in Batavia until her retirement.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Batavia, 306 East Main Street, Batavia. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Darien Center.
