Lockport - Mario J. “Hank” Ianni, age 98, of Lockport, retired manager for Montgomery Ward in Lockport, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the New York State Veteran's Home.
Mr. Ianni was born December 25, 1919 in Aquila, Italy, a son of the late Salvatore and Laura Ciuffetelli Ianni.
Mr. Ianni enjoyed photography and was an accomplished musician who played the piano and mellow tone. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during World War II.
His wife, Maria L. Perozzi Ianni, passed away on March 4, 2010.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary (Benny) Giambrone of Oakfield and Angie (late Joseph) Mattioli of Akron; his sister-in-law, Linda Ianni of Corfu; his feline friend, Eddie and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son, Theodore C. Ianni who passed away on September 24, 2017, his grandson, Alexander Ianni who passed away in 2014 and his brothers, Umberto (Bernice) Ianni, Victor (Sarah) Ianni, David (Theresa) Ianni, Carl (Rose) Ianni and Benny Ianni.
Friends may call on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where prayers will follow visitation at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. He will be laid to rest in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery.
