Bergen - Marlene F. Ireland, 77, of Bergen, passed away Tuesday, (August 21, 2018) at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.
Mrs. Ireland was born November 4, 1940 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Sidney and Ruth (Sheridan) Maher.
Marlene was a member of St. Brigid's Church, in Bergen. A retiree of General Motors in Rochester, she enjoyed going to the casino, animals, spending time with family, and taking rides with Jim in their '68 convertible.
She is the wife of James R. Ireland, of Bergen, whom she married January 28, 1958.
Surviving along with her husband are two daughters, Patricia Ireland of VA and Christine (Ronald) Brown of Bergen; three sisters, Geraldine (late Ray) Lichti of FL, Barbara (late Vincent) O'Grady of Bergen, and Donna (Robert) Powers of Bergen. 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Marlene is predeceased by son, Edward Ireland; brothers, Robert (late Kathleen) Maher and Norman Maher; sisters, Gladys (late Richard) Hill, and Jane (Late Guy) Ryan.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co., Inc., 51 South Lake Street, Bergen. Marlene's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, (August 25, 2018) at St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson Street, Bergen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of Mass Intentions at St. Brigid's Church. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery, Bergen.
