Marlene Warner, 85, of Batavia, passed away on Monday (May 8, 2017) at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Batavia. Marlene was born May 27, 1931 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Christian Conrad and Zelma LaVerne (Washburn) Stein. She was an opera singer at Eastman School of Music in Rochester. Marlene enjoyed painting, dancing, playing the organ and dressing up as the wicked witch for Halloween. Survivors include one sister, Joyce (late Nelson P.) Hunter of Richmond, KY; a niece, Cynthia Lynn Hunter Preston of Richmond, KY; two nephews, William Ernest Hunter and Kenneth Ray Hunter, both of Richmond, KY; one great-niece, Whitney Elaine Hunter, five great-nephews, William Ryan Hunter, Daniel Larry Marifjeren, Adam Hunter, Aaron Hunter and Zachary Jacob Wayne Cruse and Marlene's special care giver, Bonnie Caccamise of LeRoy. Marlene is predeceased by her half-brother, Roland Stein. Calling hours are Friday (May 12) from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia, where services will be at 12:00 p.m. also on Friday (May 12). Marlene will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Rochester. Memorials may be made to the family.
