Martha T. "Marty" Vickner
Oakfield - Martha T. "Marty" Vickner, 82, a resident of Oakfield since 1951, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Highland Health System following a brief unexplained illness.
Mrs. Vickner was born May 12, 1931 in Port Henry, NY, a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Gavenda) Scupien.
A member of St. Padre Pio Parish since 1951, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life in her family and friends, fishing and sunbathing.
Her husband, Arnold E. "Arnie" Vickner, died March 29, 2007.
Survivors include 4 children, Michael Vickner of Oakfield, Karen (late Ben) Emerson of Rochester, Patrick (Martha Peters) Vickner of Ft. Worth, TX and Maureen (Dwight) TerBush of Newburgh; 2 brothers, Paul (Rita) Scupien of FL and Joseph (Sandy) Scupien of VA; a sister. Mary Ann Mulaniff of Clarence Center; 5 granddaughters, Hannah (David) Vickner Hough of Nepal, Adrienne Emerson of TX; Irene (Nate) Nettekoven of VA, Meredith Emerson of CT and Terra Vickner of TX; 2 great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild due in January; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. A Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013 at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecelia's Worship Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, NY. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
