Batavia - Mrs. Mary F. Demmer, 80, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Genesee County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Demmer was born April 27, 1933 in Bergen, a daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie Tuttle Monagan.
She will be remembered by her family as being very outgoing and friendly to all she met. She was very soft-spoken, caring and gentle and loved telling jokes and making people laugh. She enjoyed playing cards, "I Got It", garage sales and animals.
She is predeceased in death by her husband, William Demmer.
Surviving are her children, Gloria (William) Smith of Corfu, Laurie Thompson of Perry, William Demmer of Medina, Michael (Lisa) Demmer of Tennessee and Linda Atkins of Middleport; two sisters, Lorraine Kinney and Patricia Matthews, both of East Bethany; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia where services will follow at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 306 East Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Oakfield.
