Mary Holmes

Mary Holmes, daughter of the late Ernest and Matilda Jonathan passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Mary loved camping, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed shopping, garage sales, flea markets, local fairs, and traveling. She bonded with people from all over including her virtual friends with whom she enjoyed playing Scrabble and Words with Friends. Mary had a long list of things she had done over her work career. In her early days she worked as a beautician. Over the years she worked in several factory settings including Kodak, and for a time she even worked in home health care. She eventually retired from AC Delco. Mary will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Mary is predeceased by her late husband Michael Holmes, son Dan Bosley, daughter Jodie Judd, grandson Darrell Black, and granddaughter Davina Black; and brother Kervin Jonathan.

Mary is survived by her children Burnet (Marlene) Black, Laureen Johnson, Karen Soccio, Dorinda (Bill) Foos, daughter-in-law Laura Murray; her grandchildren Jim Soccio, Joshua Dunham, Amanda (Jeff) Buchholz, McKenna Bosley, Natalie Bosley; great grand-children Nolan, Elianna, and Easton; her brother, Murphey (Grace) Jonathan, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow at H.E Turner Funeral Home in Batavia NY. A funeral reception will be held at 1:00pm at Oakfield Community Bible Church. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
