Batavia - Mary J. Lauterborn, 79, of Batavia and Lake Park, Fla, passed away Friday, (December 26, 2014) at Jupiter Medical Center, in Jupiter, Fla.
Mrs. Lauterborn was born February 28, 1935 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Frederick and Josephine (Nagorniak) Aquina.
Mary was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Batavia and enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She loved to spend time with her family, travel, and dogs; especially corgis. She had been wintering in Florida for more than 30 years.
She is the wife of the late Jay Lauterborn, who passed away in 2005.
Survivors include two sons, David (Dorothy) Walsh of Lake Park, FL, Steven (Maria) Walsh of Batavia; step children, Maureen (Steven) Leupold of Churchville, Michael Lauterborn of Spencerport; a sister-in-law, Agnes Aquina of Lake Park, FL; special nephews, Frederick (Laurie) Aquina of Batavia, and Francis (Linda) Aqunia of East Pembroke. Nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with several nieces nephews and cousins also survive.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Francis Aquina.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Mary's Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, (January 3, 2015) also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be distributed to various charities. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.
