Batavia - Matthew D. Yoder, 25, of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his home while under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.

Matt was born on May 29, 1997 in Batavia, a son of David S. Yoder and Kathleen Yunker Yoder of Batavia.

Matt was a graduate of Pembroke High School and was studying game simulation and science at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy. He was active in martial arts earning his 2nd degree black belt from Refuse 2 Lose Martial Arts in Batavia. Matt loved books, movies and listening to music on his vinyl record collection.

Surviving with his parents are his sister, Anna Yoder of Batavia; grandparents, Jerome D. (JoAnn) Yoder of Batavia and Richard (Late Mary Lucille) Yunker of Oakfield; his aunt, Kristen Yunker of Oakfield; his uncle, Jerome S. (Gwen) Yoder of Darien; and his cousins, Nicholas and Zachary Yoder.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 4 to 7 pm at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 10 am at St. Padre Pio Parish, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. He will be laid to rest in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 29 Liberty Street, Suite #6, Batavia, New York 14020.
