LeRoy - Norma E. Brown, 92, of LeRoy, formerly of Batavia, died Wednesday, at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility, in LeRoy.
Mrs. Brown was born May 25, 1921 in Elmira, NY, a daughter of the late Donald C. and Lucille (Kizer) Near.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church and volunteered at Genesee Memorial Hospital's Gift Shop. She formerly worked at Marlena's and the Winner Circle as well as at Genesee Farms and the Batavia Club. She was an avid baker and loved baking pies for the GMH Snack Shop.
Her husband, Frederick H. Brown, Jr., died November 12, 1990.
Survivors include a son, James E. (Betsy) Brown of Concord, NC; a daughter, Anne Marie (Greg) Haight of Spencerport; a daughter-in-law, Loretta Brown of Ft. Myers, FL; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Michael Brown and Mary Lou Brown, sister of the late Margaret Morith and Jane Merrick and sister-in-law of the late Gilbert Morith.
Friends may attend her Mass of Christian burial at 12 p.m. Monday, St. Mary's Church, 18 Ellicott St., Batavia. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380 or to Leroy Village Green Nursing Home Sunshine Fund, 10 Munson St., LeRoy, NY 14482. Entombment will be at St. Joseph's Mausoleum in Batavia. Arrangements were completed by Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home of Batavia.
