Otha L. Johnson, 60, of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.
Otha was born October 21, 1957 in Downsville, GA, a son of the late Ethel Johnson and was raised by the late Liza Gandy.
Otha was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and was the caretaker of the church since he was 16 years old. He loved watching Westerns and the Buffalo Bills. Otha will be remembered as a family man who was a great cook, mechanic and hard worker and enjoyed working out and fishing. He was a detailer at the former Mike Ognibene Ford in Batavia.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Saddler) Johnson of Batavia; his children, Lameschia (Chris McClinic) Johnson of Alexander, Oleshia (Charlie Smith) Johnson of Batavia, Otha Lee (Janella) Johnson Jr. of Maryland and Yolanda (Timothy Lee) Johnson of LeRoy; his grandchildren, Christopher, Jaliyah, Camareon, Jshon, Tahlia, Miakoda, Makayla, Kiajia, Omar'eon and Othon; a great-grandchild, Ava; brothers, Oraid, Perry and Johnny; sisters, Gwenette, Valencia and Vanessa and several nieces and nephews.
Otha is a brother of the late Mary and Terry.
Calling hours are Thursday (March 15th) from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 516 Ellicott Street, Batavia, where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. also on Thursday (March 15th). Otha will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.
