Batavia - Patricia B. Monroe, 83, of Batavia, former secretary for the First Baptist Church of Batavia for over 20 years, passed away at her home in Batavia on Sunday, March 22, 2015.



Mrs. Monroe was born March 19, 1932 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Leo and Mildred Beachel Berryman.



A 1949 graduate of Alexander High School, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batavia, the Batavia Business and Professional Woman's Club, the American Baptist Churches of Western New York's WEGO Association and served as secretary of the Paolo Busti Cultural Foundation of Genesee County for many years, where she made an honorary member by the organization.



She was a lifetime member of the auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 332 and VFW Post No. 1602, both in Batavia. Pat loved to sew and donated many of her projects to people she knew and those she didn't. She took great happiness and pleasure in meeting her brother Larry and his family.



Her husband of 57 years, Douglas F. Monroe, passed away on October 31, 2008.



She is survived by her children; Gary Monroe of White Plains, Douglas (Kerry) Monroe of Houston, Texas, Anne Allen of Batavia, Elijah Brent Monroe of Batavia, Adam Monroe of Rochester and Andrew (Vicky) Monroe of Adolphus, Kentucky; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; her brother, Larry; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Monroe and JoAnn Monroe, both of Batavia.



Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Darien Center.
