Dorothy Jean Russell
BERGEN - Dorothy Jean Russell, 84, of Bergen, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019, at her home in Bergen.
Dorothy was born March 9, 1934, in Malone, NY, the daughter of the late Roy and Addie Grimshaw.
She was a baker at Gregory's Bakery in Bergen and had worked at the True Stitch Factory in Malone. She had a large collection of cook books and was a member of the Ladies of Charity as well as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a 4H Leader. She enjoyed ceramics and was active in bowling leagues at Mancuso's Lanes and at the Rose Garden Bowl. She loved being home and taking care of her family.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Donald Patrick Russell, whom she married August 29, 1953; 4 children, Jeff Russell, Mary K. (Russell) Schramm and Tim Russell all of Bergen and Mike (Wendy) Russell of Byron; 4 grandchildren, Ronald H. Schramm, Jr. of Bergen, Stacy (Gerry) Russell Lane of Greece, Shannon (Dan Dutton) Russell of Batavia, Page Russell of Bergen; 4 great-grandchildren, Ethan Schramm and Logan Schramm both of Webster and Wesley Wilcox and Reese Wilcox. She was also survived by her extended family of several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was Predeceased by her brother the late Bobby Grimshaw and her late son-in-law, Ronald H. Schramm, Sr. There will be no visitation. Funeral service and burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, 4955 N. Bailey Ave, #217, Amherst, NY 14226 as well as the American Heart Association of WNY, 5488 Sharidan Drive #300, Williamsville, NY 14231. Mrs. Russell has been entrusted into the care of H.E.
