Philomena Gravanda, 81, of Batavia, died Thursday (November 21, 2013) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia after a long illness.
Miss Gravanda was born November 12, 1932 in Batavia, a daughter of the late John and Marian (Gentile) Gravanda.
She was a former dietary aide at St. Jerome Hospital in Batavia prior to her retirement.
Survivors include two sisters, Connie DiAntonio and Irene Lillis, both of Batavia; two brothers, John Gravante of Batavia and Vincent (Marge) Gravanda of Stafford; a brother-in-law, Merle Adams of Batavia; a sister-in-law, Frances Gravanda of Buffalo and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is a sister of the late Catherine Zacarella, Mary Eckleberger, Ida Spoitta, Barbara Adams, Nicholas Gravanda, Fred Gravanda and Anthony Gravanda.
There are no prior calling hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Ascension Parish, 15 Sumner Street, Batavia. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Batavia.
