Bethany Center - Priscilla J. Norton, 86, a longtime resident of East Bethany, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Norton was born April 15, 1928 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Richard and Gertrude Day Nichols.
A 1945 graduate of Batavia High School, Mrs. Norton was a lifelong member of the Bethany Center Baptist Church where she volunteered her time with the ladies aide.
She enjoyed watching TV, shopping and being with family and friends. She loved her home and the view of the valley. She especially loved her grandson.
Her husband, Harold S. Norton, passed away in 1984.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet E. Norton of Newark, Joanne R. Norton of East Bethany and Jean A. (Robert J.) Hutchinson of Byron; her grandson, James Robert Hutchinson of Auburn Hills, Michigan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is the sister of the late Grant and Dayton Nichols, Myra Peterson, Avis Carver and Ruth Maples.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Bethany Center Baptist Church, 10420 Bethany Center Road, East Bethany, New York 14054. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery, Bethany.
