Mr. Rea Austin Jr., 87, of Rochester and formerly of Oakfield, died Friday (January 31, 2014) at Unity Health System in Rochester.
Mr. Austin was born December 18, 1926 in Glade Spring, VA, a son of the late Rea and Ethel (Blevins) Austin.
A veteran, he served with the United States Army. He was a hard working family man and worked at U.S. Gypsum in Oakfield.
Survivors include one son, Rea James Austin of North Carolina; three daughters, Patricia (Steve) Cotto of Rochester, Joyce Fullwood of North Carolina and Evelyn Oliver of Batavia; three sisters, Eva Calisto, Agnes Austin and Rosetta Hickman, all of Batavia; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Blanche Austin died in 1989. He is also predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Barber.
There are no prior calling hours and services will be private. Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
