Corfu - Richard E. Clark, 79, of Corfu, passed away Wednesday, (May 7, 2014) at New York State Veteran's Home, in Batavia, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Clark was born December 13, 1934 in Batavia, a son of the late Elmer and Margaret (Horner) Clark.
He served his country honorably with the Marine Corps and he greatly enjoyed bowling, taking walks, and eating. He was an avid collector of coins and stamps.
He is the husband of Gloria (Burnside) Clark.
Along with his wife, Richard is survived by his children, Patrick (Kelly) Clark of TN, Mark Silvernail of FL, Brian Silvernail of FL, Kent (Dawn) Silvernail of Corfu, and Sara (Scott) McNutt of Alexander; grandchildren, Lilly Clark, Kyle McNutt, Scottie McNutt, and Tony McNutt; a brother, Robert (late Connie) Clark of NM; a sister, Linda Sue Manhart. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Jean Clark.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia; where Richard's Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday (May 10, 2014). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the NYS Veteran's Home Activities Fund, 220 Richmond Ave., Batavia, NY 14020. Burial, with military honors, will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Alexander.
