Batavia - Mr. Robert F. Fitzsimmons, 88, of Batavia, died Monday (December 17, 2012) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, in LeRoy.
Mr. Fitzsimmons was born April 3, 1924 in Alabama, NY, a son of the late Charles and Dora (Hitchcock) Fitzsimmons.
A veteran, he served with the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was an avid golfer and also a ceramic engineer at Lapp Insulator in LeRoy.
Survivors include a brother, Elmer (Peg) Fitzsimmons of North Carolina; three sisters, Nellie Grazioplene of Oakfield, Lillian Martin of Oklahoma and Freda Klotzbach of Kenmore; 11 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He is a brother of the late Hazel Fitzsimmons.
There are no prior calling hours. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Oakfield.
