Rocco Antonino Falleti passed away peacefully on Sunday October 4, 2020 at the age of 85 years. He was born on August 4, 1935 in Taurianova province of Reggio Calabria, Italy to the late Antonino and Maria Falleti. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brothers, Vincenzo, Francesco, and Aldo Falleti.
Rocco completed his service in the Italian Army as a master mechanic in the tank division. He brought his talent and quest for the American dream to Batavia, NY in October of 1959. He was married on February 6, 1960 to Betty Falleti his surviving wife of 60 years. Rocco had a tenacious drive to succeed. Along with his new bride and three jobs he worked tirelessly to make America his home.
Rocco’s love and passion for cars was his inspiration to fulfill his American dream as the founder, president of Falleti motors, Inc. in 1976 until his retirement in 1993. His remaining years thereafter, he resided in the same home and proclaimed himself “The Neighborhood Mayor”. He could be found daily on his porch holding court with his best friend and brother Domenico.
Rocco took tremendous pride in his children and grandchildren. He created long lasting friendships and always strived to maintain and instill his Italian heritage of family and gatherings to celebrate life.
Rocco is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Falleti, his children, Anthony (Pamela) Falleti, Mary (Cory) Brown, Frank Falleti, and Vincenzo (Michelle) Falleti. Grandchildren, Arieal Cook, Aubrey Wolfe, Anthony Falleti, Kayla and Colby Brown, Gino, Francesco, and Mirabella Falleti, Gianna and Sofia Falleti. brothers, Domenico (Julia) Falleti of Batavia, New York, Pasqualino (Anna) Falleti of Varapodio, Italy, Girolamo Falleti of Naples, Florida, and sister Lena (Rocco) D’Eugenio of Rome, Italy and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Friday October 9, 2020 from 3:00 -7:00 p.m. at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home on 308 East Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A private Catholic Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 10, 2020 at Resurrection Roman Catholic Parish, 303 East Main Street Batavia, New York 14020.
