Rosa Lee Miller, 85, of Batavia, died Monday (November 10, 2014) at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia.
Rosa was born May 14, 1929 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Hale) Richardson. She was raised by her late uncle and aunt, Clarence and Harriett Hubbard.
She was a legal secretary at Gardner & Balbick in Batavia and served on the Genesee County Fair Board, where she was a past treasurer. Rosa was a member of the Genesee County Republican Women's Committee and the First Presbyterian Church in Batavia. Rosa was also a former member of the American Cancer Society and enjoyed camping, crafts and reading.
Survivors include her children, Lloyd J. Miller of Stafford, Linda (Allyn) Bernard of Oakfield, Randy (Cindy) Miller of Corfu and Denise (David) Votaw of Waterford, PA; her grandchildren, Chad (Sandra Mullen) Bernard, Sean (Hillary) Miller, Mark (Kati) Bernard, Robert Votaw, Justin Miller, Gregory (Suzanne) Votaw, Jonathan Votaw and Andrew Miller; three great-grandchildren and many close nieces and nephews.
Rosa is predeceased by her husband, Ralph Miller; brothers, Roy Hubbard, Wilbur Richardson, Norman Richardson and Thomas Richardson; sisters, Nellie Walbridge and Ruth Johnson; a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Miller; brothers-in-law, Leon Johnson, Jack Miller, Glenn Falker and William Walbridge and a sister-in-law, Leola Falker.
Calling hours are Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the conclusion of calling hours at the funeral home. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Oakfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bell Choir Fund at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020.
