Oakfield - Ruth M. Yoder, age 100, of Oakfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Wyoming County Community Hospital. Mrs. Yoder was born December 22, 1917 in Darien, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Meyers Mingle. She lived in Attica, NY for 53 years before moving to Oakfield in 2012 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. While living in Attica she sold Avon for many years and was active in Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish's Rosary & Altar Society. A member of St. Padre Pio Parish in Oakfield, she loved working the daily crossword puzzle and watching the Buffalo Sabres. She is predeceased by her husbands, Eli Yoder who passed away in 1987 and Charles D. Baker who passed away in 2012. She was devoted to her family and is survived by her children, Jerome (JoAnn) Yoder of Batavia, June (Benjamin) Martino of Oakfield and James (Linda) Yoder of Batavia; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings; Raymond, Edward, Arthur & Carl Mingle, Alice Haier, Irene VanAlstyne and Eleanor Swonger. There are no prior visiting hours. Her services will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 11 a.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Please note change in service location due to a Day of Holy Obligation in the Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Attica.
