Bergen - Mr. Stanley Ratajczak, Jr., 88, of Bergen, a longtime resident of Broadalbin, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Unity Health System, in Rochester.
Mr. Ratajczak was born November 5, 1924 in Amsterdam, a son of the late Stanley and Cecilia Winkle Ratajczak, Sr.
A member of St. Brigid's Church in Bergen, Mr. Ratajczak was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church and the VFW in Broadalbin and was a World War II Army veteran.
He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.
A longtime owner and proprietor of Imperial Packers in Amsterdam, he retired from Meatland in 2008.
His wife, Ann V. Ratajczak, passed away on November 15, 2009.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Lawrence) Reynolds of Bergen and Patricia (Michael) Kohlhagen of South Salem; six grandchildren, Michael (Bernadette) Olander of Gates, Susan (Mark) Barber, Peter (Deana) Olander, and Robert (Carrie) Reynolds, all of Bergen, Elyssa and Alex Kohlhagen of South Salem; a sister, Alice Auriemma of Amsterdam; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is the grandfather of the late Sandra Olander and brother of the late Raymond, Robert and William Ratajczak.
Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Street, Bergen. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson Street, Bergen.
Friends may attend graveside services on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Amsterdam where military honors will be rendered.
