Oakfield - Steven Lyle Mowers, 44, of Oakfield, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.
Mr. Mowers was born February 28, 1972 in Batavia, a son of Steven G. Mowers of Alexandria, PA and Karen (Dennis) Matters McComb of Oakfield.
He served in Korea with the US Army from 1990 to 1992. He was a graduate of Oakfield Alabama High School, was an avid outdoorsman and had worked as a hunting guide out west.
Survivors include his father, Steven G. (Diane) Mower of PA; his mother, Karen (Dennis) Matters McComb of Oakfield; 2 stepchildren, Alex Norman of Fort Drum and Daniel Norman of Corfu; 4 siblings, Nathan Mowers of Oakfield, Rachel McComb of MA, Matthew (Aunchana) McComb of Oakfield and Jessica (Dylan) Brew of Batavia and a niece, Eleanora Weber of MA.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave. in Oakfield. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
