Susan Borgal Serinis, 71, of Oakfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 18, 2020. She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Serinis (Michael Moore, Jr.), Heather Serinis, Victoria Collier, and her grandchildren Serenity Fox, Veronica Fox, Matthew Dixon, Micah Collier, Marianna Collier; brother John (Doreen) Borgal; sisters Patricia (Vernon) Kelly and Mary Dix, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Victor Serinis, parents Emerson J. Borgal and Florence D. Borgal, and brother David Mead. Susan was born on December 5, 1948 to Florence and Emerson. From the time she graduated from High School until the day she retired, she was a nurse. She fondly shared the memory of meeting Victor. She was an allergy nurse for Victor’s mother, and she insisted that she meet her son. She spent most of her nursing career as a nurse with the VA Medical Center in Batavia, New York. She was one of the first PTSD nurses when the program opened in Batavia, and she took a lot of pride in helping the Veterans during their recovery. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Burial will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Oakfield, with a luncheon to follow at the fellowship hall at St. Cecilia’s Church in Oakfield. Memorial contributions in Susan’s memory may be made to St. Padre Pio Parish, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, NY 14125.
