Teresa D. Del Plato, 94, of Batavia, died Sunday (March 8, 2015) at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia.
Teresa was born June 14, 1920 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Anthony and Marie (Pifalo) Fiore.
Teresa loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a member of the Knitting Club in Batavia. She volunteered at St. Anthony's Church and enjoyed playing bingo and cards and traveling to visit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia (Richard) Salzer of Fairport; one son, Ralph (Beth) Del Plato of Henrietta; four grandchildren, Andrea (Matt) Herring of Alaska, Mark (Kristin) Salzer of Pennsylvania, Alyssa Del Plato of Rochester and Christopher Del Plato of Rochester; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Anna Herring and Chase and Hayden Salzer and several nieces and nephews.
She is the wife of the late Ralph Del Plato, who died February 25, 1999. Teresa is a sister of the late Joseph Fiore, Dominic Fiore, Virginia Strollo, Jenny Miconi and Lucy Renzi.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Teresa's Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Batavia.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
