Victoria Reese, 72, of Batavia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday (September 15, 2014) with her loving sister and care taker Betty Martin by her side.
Victoria's sunrise was on September 8, 1942 and sunset on September 15, 2014. Victoria was born in North Carolina but grew up in Avoca, NY, to the late Victor Cole and Leola Grey.
Victoria was a member of the church Prayeroom Storehouse in Buffalo and served on the Usher Board for many years. She served as a member of the Christian Counsel for Women. When she lived in Toledo, Ohio she was the supervisor for a bottling company for many years before she moved to Batavia and worked as an assistant supervisor at Melton Shirt Factory before she retired.
Victoria enjoyed gardening, cleaning and decorating her home. She also enjoyed reading her bible.
Surviving are her daughters, Vickie L. Cole and Addie Jean Cole; and a son, Clinton James Reese; grandchildren, Sean M. Cole and Tonya Lee Cole; great- grandchildren, Miekesá Leola Smith and four other great- grandchildren; sister, Pastor Hazel Tucker; brother, Ted Cole and sister, Betty Martin; Goddaughters Peaches and La Margaret; loving niece, Betty Cherry and great- niece, (Little) Betty Cherry along with many great nieces, great nephews, relatives, friends and church family.
Calling hours are Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, also at the funeral home. Eulogy will be given by her sister Pastor Hazel Tucker. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia.
