Violet L. Beverly, 87, of Oakfield, died Wednesday (March 25, 2015) at Buffalo General Hospital.
Beverly was born March 12, 1928 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Homer and Della Mae King.
Violet loved her children, grandchildren and the Lord and sharing stories about Him along with reading her bible. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking and crocheting. A giving person, she will be remembered as a caretaker for those in the community. Violet was an inspector at Doehler Jarvis Division of National Lead in Batavia.
Survivors include her four children, James (Yvonne) Beverly of Oakfield, Aubrey (Patricia) Beverly of Bergen, Beverly Beverly of Ohio and Esther (Keith) Osterman of Darien; three brothers, Carl (Jewel) King, Ralph King and James King, all of West Virginia; one sister, Esther (Bradley) of South Carolina; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, James Floyd Beverly, died April 18, 2004. She is also predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters.
Calling hours are Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Agape Manor, 3842 Main Street, Strykersville, NY 14145
