Byron - Vivian Ann Chapell, 66, of Byron, a clerk at U.S. Postal Office in Byron prior to her retirement, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Leo Center for Caring, in Rochester.
Mrs. Chapell was born January 5, 1948 in Frankfort, Germany, a daughter of Robert George and Kalina (Stupak) Beyer of Byron.
She was a lifetime member of St. Brigid's Church in Bergen, a 1965 graduate of Byron-Bergen School and a graduate of the Weaver Airline School in Kansas City, MO in 1966. She was the co-founder of Southwoods R.V. Resort in Byron and enjoyed gardening and attending her grandchildren's activities. She had also retired from GE/Black & Decker.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Lester H. "Terry" Chapell, whom she married August 5, 1967; a son, Thomas (Aimee) Chapell ; a daughter, Cheryl (Chad) Huhn of Byron; 3 grandchildren, Garrett Chapell, Quinn Chapell and Grace Huhn, all of Byron; a brother, Robert (Norma) Beyer of York, PA; 2 sisters, Doris (Jarl) Boyst of Brockport and Deborah Tennity of Clay; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St., Bergen. Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson St., Bergen. Memorials may be made to Leo Center for Caring, St. Ann's Foundation, 1500 Portland Ave, Rochester, NY 14621. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery.
