Elba - Wayne E. Johnson, Jr., 43, of Elba, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, (February 12, 2013) at Buffalo General Medical Center, in Buffalo.
Mr. Johnson was born April 11, 1969 in Batavia, a son of Wayne and the late Debbie L. (Donnelly) Johnson, Sr.
Wayne was a member of Godfrey's Pond as well as the Four Seasons Sportsman's Club in Elba. He was a true outdoors man, greatly enjoying hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed racing mini stock cars at Genesee Speedway, where his number was 21.
Besides his father, Wayne is survived by his loving companion of many years, Laura Peterson, of Elba; a brother, Mark (Sue) Johnson of Medina; a sister, Brenda (Alan) Zakopyko of ND. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Along with his mother, Wayne is preceded in death by an infant sister, Bobbi Jo Johnson.
There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to a memorial gathering at 12:00 Noon on Friday, at the Elba Fire Department Rec Hall, 7143 Oak Orchard Road, Elba. The family requests that guests bring a dessert to pass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
