Batavia - Mr. Willard D. Preston, III, age 81, of Batavia, supervisor with the former O&K Trojan in Batavia, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Buffalo General Medical Center.
Mr. Preston was born June 13, 1936 in Warsaw, a son of the late Dr. Willard D. and Ruth Meisner Preston.
A 1955 graduate of Batavia High School, he was a member of Ascension Parish and was a former member of the Kiwanis Club. He was active with the Batavia Minor League where he coached his son, Duane and served as the president. Mr. Preston proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1955-1958 as a paratrooper in the Swiss Alps. He earned a good conduct medal and parachutist badge.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Moscicki Preston, whom he married November 27, 1958; his children, Sharon (Alan) Porch of Baldwinsville, Linda (Michael) Bushart of Webster and Duane (Pamela) Preston of Batavia; nine grandchildren; his brother, Thomas (Dottie) Preston of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.
There are no prior visiting hours. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Ascension Parish, 15 Sumner Street, Batavia. He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4955 North Bailey Avenue, #217, Amherst, New York 14226 or to the Activities Fund at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020.
